Italian Cantucci Biscuits with Hazelnuts 250g

£9.50

Best before date: 30/09/2024

A delicious variant on the very popular Cantucci, these Antonio Mattei biscuits offer the crunchiness of the traditional recipe created by Antonio Mattei himself in 1858, with the twist of some delicious hazelnuts from the Unesco Heritage site of the Langhe, in Piedmont.

The best way to experience these Antonio Mattei cantuccini is at the end of a meal, with a small glass of sweet wine, like Passito or Vin Santo, tea or coffee. Summer or Winter, morning or evening, with a hot or cold beverage, they are always a great way to pause, and indulge on the moment.

In the centre of Prato, Tuscany, you can find a little shop that has been opened since 1858. Every morning before 10am, using the original recipe Antonio Mattei personally created, cantucci come out of the oven and the entire via Ricasoli smells like biscuits.

They first appeared on the International scene at the 1867 Universal Exposition (World Expo) in Paris, becoming popular all over Europe. Today, the Pandolfini family looks after the brand with the same care and love its original creator intended, allowing us to bring the original cantuccini di Prato to your tables.

Ottimo

We have loved these cantucci from the first bite 20 years ago — and our Italian family lives in Prato, so we support local industries!
