Category: Campania, Tomato Sauce
Type: Tomatoes
A delicate tomato, the perfect companion for pizza and the only one used by the Academy of Pizza Verace in Naples, the San Marzano has a fascination on its own. Grown in the fertile lands around Naples and Salerno, it is certified DOP (Designated Protected Origin) because the combination of sea breeze, volcanic soil and climate create one unique tomato.
HOW TO USE IT
Simplicity it's key, and these tomatoes give their best when treated carefully. Make some delicious spaghetti, throw the tomatoes in a pan over a gentle heat with some garlic and basil. Mix together, serve.
WHY WE LOVE IT
San Marzano tomatoes have a very distinctive taste and flavour, and in our opinion, they speak of pasta. It's like a match made in heaven, and who are we to say otherwise?

Amazing. The best tinned plum tomatoes ever. Slightly smaller than standard U.K. tinned ones but that makes them more juicy too! I bought these several times now.
