Made in the heart of the Unesco Heritage site of the Langhe, in Piedmont, Montaldo Dandelion is an intense honey, with very fine crystals, slightly pungent and sweet on the palate. Amber in colour when in a liquid texture, ones crystallised it turns cream/yellow.
HOW TO USE IT
Great with aged cheese such as Asiago, Pecorino or Taleggio. Because of its diuretic and detoxifing properties, it is also recommended in herbal teas as sweetener.
WHY WE LOVE IT
Smooth, intense, it reminds us of the one we used to have as children for breakfast, on some toasted bread and butter!
INGREDIENTS
100% natural honey from dandelion flowers.
ORIGIN
Made and harvested in the Langhe Region, the Unesco Heritage Site in Piedmont. About the company: Montaldo is run by the young Matteo, looking after the bees of his grand father. In June 2018, we turned up at his door completely unannounced. Literally. Nevertheless, he and his family welcomed us, let us taste the honey and Matteo's mum grappa made with cherries' leaves was to die for. We didn't get the chance to visit the bees, but we'll be back. In the meantime, we trust our taste, and how lovely everyone in the family is.
